discontinuance august 2003
a clip, generated live, by myself and giles hendrix on video, and geoff GDAMM on the frenetic, terrifying audio.

this was made at the august F:T:H, at remote lounge.

dervish released first beta aug 16 2002
I have released 'dervish', my extremely rewarding but horribly difficult to learn video mixer and feedback pattern generator. it's free free free as in beer. the software can be found here. and here is a rave review, from the burning man Eplaya list, of a performance i gave with it at burning man 2002:

Thank you, carlos the dwarf. you get a cigar! plus a few hours of personal dervish instruction if you're ever in NYC. my goal is to make those beautiful images a sickening ubiquitous cliché.
The first night I went to Disorient camp (about 270 & Esplanade) there was the most amazing light show projected on the dome. It was a stunning display of shapes that went from snowflakes to water ripples to lace patterns to raindrops to heaven. An amazing display of organic beauty done completely digitally. It was the most beautiful digital art I have ever seen. Digital images that looked wholy organic and timeless.[...] Like I said, the most amazing digital art I've ever seen and even the most stunning light show (digital or analog) I have witnessed. Finally, digital art that transends the cold sterility of the binary system. My hat is way the fuck off to you, Josh Goldberg!

more advice about boxes and lines than you can find anywhere else at mia.net. (please note: DRASTICALLY out of date.)
The website for my Parsons MFADT class- Vision and Sound with Max- is here. this is the genesis of what will eventually be a better max page, worthy of all of those search engine references.

The Medium fall 2002 - fall 2005

this is a record of the construction and opening of "The Medium", a piece of permanent public art i programmed with Jasper Speicher for Janet Zweig. it's in permanent display at the University of Minnesota's journalism building, Butler Hall.
Burning Man not soon enough!
if you came, you know. if you didn't, you should. the best thing in the world. some pics of our camp from 2001.

I've kept the old sites-- the Camp Ishkabibble thingyding from bm2k and the ever-popular Jon and Ryan at Burning Man '98 site, plus the small photo album from 2001.

what made me 33%november sixteenth
there is an interview with my father mickey goldberg at biomednet right now.
they have an atrocious login system, so it's mirrored here.

he's a unique, amazing and frustrating guy, my dad, and he's much more interesting than me.
jitterWAAAAAAAAH november sixteenth, i reckon

There is some pretty crazy motion in stillness. This is a taste of a project i've been thinking about for months and working on for a week or two.
And this is a loop that was on display at mir 2. These movies are actually higher quality than the ones below... i'm learning how to compress. but you still need quicktime 5. no whining.
staticlab! July 17 2001
something to zone out to as you wait for the drugs to hit. MacOS only. This application has absolutely nothing to do with staticlab, the breathtakingly talented design house of John and Jiae Kim. I may be an aspiring artist, but they're professionals.
online movies for your viewing pleasure whenever
these are all in quicktime format. requests for real or windows media will be mocked.
epilepsy01 a typical natomonkey movie
LFO reflection the supa gl twister
nato-ized version of todd holoubek's classic 'three sameers viewing a toilet'
needless to say these all look like donkey doo because they're web video. email me if you'd like to see how my stuff looks at 720x480, 29.97 fps.

as if our monitors weren't blurry enough March 21 2001
a little application that makes them far, far worse. klik-2-trip. MacOS only.

the pretty things February 25 2001
i put a television up my nose and sneezed really hard, and these came out. Trust me, they're pretty.

The current hoster of these pictures sucks. i will come up with a better solution soon.
